  • Life Experience

It doesn’t matter when in life you become “successful”; you should not rush it one bit. Success in my mind is more about going forward day in day out while maintaining a healthy mindset and some sort of long term aspiration. It’s a personal endeavor of working toward that which means the most to you; not slaving away at a cubicle oriented career. It can be raising a family with hopes that your children are one day better of than you, yet teaching them the lessons they need in order to function highly within society. It can be creating a sustainable future for yourself where you live simply and only take what you need and give whenever you’re able. It can be trying a multitude of separate concentrations, beginning with reading books and finding out what best suits you. From there you find something that really speaks to you and you want to pursue more, so maybe you make some phone calls and express your interest to a hiring manager or similar. Perhaps they have an opening for a lower position, or perhaps the reject you and tell you that you’re clearly not experienced for any position.

Either scenario should motivate you if you actually want to take this path in life. Either you take the opportunity to work your way up, or you go read some more books, or you make another phone call elsewhere. The thing is, no matter what you do, it should be worthwhile to you personally and have meaning to your life and what you wish to accomplish in your days. It won’t be easy, it never will. The point is to accept that you will struggle toward something better in life. Ultimately you will be exactly where you want to be, yet you may not even realize until later on.

This is part of my issue with the college system. Students who have only been living 17 years should be expected to pay 10’s of thousands into a program that’s supposed to determine what career they’ll take on for the rest of their life. Sure this schooling can lead to opportunities that you may not otherwise get, but it can easily do more harm than good. Many students partially complete college, with nothing to show for but thousands of debt, solely for sitting in a several classes in a chair and being handed paperwork that’s meant to test their knowledge on the subject matter.

I think what’s so much more important is trying different things in life; working under an highly experienced crafts-person or business owner. To have a one on one opportunity like this can be so much more valuable to a person, to have a deeply connected relationship with somebody who wants to see you learn their craft, rather than a professor who sees you as just another head in the crowd.

It seems like the “college experience” as we know it might be over, considering students will be hindered from socializing in large groups for fears of increasing the spread. I have no clue what the plan is for school or colleges this coming fall semester, but wouldn’t it make more sense for one-on-one mentor-ship for higher learning, rather than having droves of students risking their health and throwing away thousands that may better applied toward their futures?

  • You are what surrounds you.

I used to believe that we’re very much shaped by the environments we grow up in. The people we’re to become largely relies on the experiences and people around us. But I’ve found that it’s so much more than that, as in an instantaneous type of way. Each place or setting that we put ourselves into, we become. Where ever we are and whoever we’re with; that’s what we are. If we don’t naturally become a part of it, that is how unwarranted distress can easily occur.

We all have friend groups, we have individual friends, we have family, extended family and so on. The ways in which we behave and feel around each of these groups can vary depending on comfortability and place. Think of the last time you were at a party of with in a group setting where you weren’t feeling it. You wanted to be at home with your comforts or just outside, away from everybody. Yet there you were sulking until the night’s end. This is what happens when we put ourselves into places that we don’t necessarily want to be and additionally, don’t make the most of it. When you’re in a place, yet so psychologically retreated from it, no good thing is bound to happen.

In another sense, once among nature there are no worries. That is because nature does not worry. Nature just is, it blows in the wind, it moves down stream, it grows and erodes overtime with no complaint. While we’re within that environment, we do just the same. What we see it what we are in that respect, and that’s why it makes us feel good about where we’re at.

It’s a similar deal when we’re at a concert and we dance. Because the uplifting energy of the music, the band, and the people around us lends itself to dancing. Notice there are some concerts where people don’t dance, the energy may not be great for one reason or another, but it is entirely possibly for one individual in the crowd to spark the moment and give it all they got; to transform the energy of the crowd, the band, and the music they play. This I turn transforms the entire environment into what’s its meant to be.

We also become our environment in the sense that if we’re in a broken household we’re more susceptible to be a broken person. It is only when when taking the big step to leave on toward something better and new that we find this broken state is not really our permanent self. Through discovering new places and people that are healthy to the mind, that is when we quickly begin to heal and become anew. When we’re in a tidy and bright household, with supportive parents, and inspiring objects, art, equipment, it is possible to become so much more at an earlier age. It is for this reason that those of the former household must work so much harder, whether that’s through

There are many people in the world that are in so called “soul crushing” jobs. Well, that is because they become their job. If the job does not speak to you, it has no place in your life. The job is not meant to be. There are so many opportunities, ways to live in this day in age, yet we only see the reality of what is directly in front of us, so anything else seems impossible. We create excuses for why it might not work out for us.

Again, we become our environment naturally. We adapt in the ways that we need to. It’s human nature at it’s core. In this sense, anything you begin, anything that you desire to achieve is possible. Don’t allow fears to hold you back, because fear is simply the back side of something better. Climb the mountain, get around the wall, dig the trench, crawl through the dirt. Do what you need to do in order to be on the other side of fear.

So, when you think of what you’d like to be or how you want your life to look, it is firstly important to look at your surroundings. The room you spend your time in. Is is tidy or a mess? Does it inspire you or make you upset? The food in your refrigerator, what does it say?

The people you spend most your time with. There is no problem with the people, but if you are constantly wishing for something else, something more, you won’t find it here. You can’t change people, you can only change your environment, thus changing yourself and the path that you’re on.

You are what surrounds you, so surround yourself with what you’d like to be. Embrace what you have, with the tools at your ready. You can create something amazing so long as you become a part of that which is intrinsically beautiful.

  • Choosing Your Life

One of the most amazing parts of life is you can choose to live it in any way you wish.

We’re extremely lucky to living in this era and in this state (VT). Obviously the world is not perfect and it never will be. There are many aspects that are surely headed in the wrong direction, but it’s always worth working toward something better. The sheer amount of variety in options and opportunity we have on a day to day basis is extraordinary.

We have the ability to access anything we need and be in contact with anyone across the entire world. The power of any unique individual is higher than it’s ever been.

If you have a hobby or interest, you can dive into it instantly and learn all that you want about it and purchase whatever you may need to start it off. There are unlimited amounts of knowledge on the internet from scholars, philosophers and free thinkers of the past and present.

In an age where corporations, media conglomerations and politicians are strong attempt to get hold of our freedoms and instilling our greatest fears, we have the ability to go and think on our own and to not allow them to shape the narrative of our country and our relationship with nations abroad.

We have the option of succumbing and be angered by what the media constantly throws at us, or alternatively ignore it for the sake of living with a healthy mindset and realizing that a small event that occurred a thousand miles from us might not have significance in our own lives. Maybe it’s a waste of energy to be reactive to a situation that’s out of our control and what really matters is that we step away from biased sources of information, and focus more on being part of our own community.

It is easy to be distracted by what actually matters throughout life. There is so much happening every minute around the country and sure it peaks our interest because we as a species crave that rush of excitement.

To be even more personal, I have no clue what to actually think about the state of affairs happening in present times. The stories are always skewed to favor one side or another, and there is always more to the story that can possibly change it completely. How can anybody believe anything when it’s deliberately written to make you perceive it in a certain way?

All I really know is how I feel personally and what I feel is right to do in my own life. It’s difficult enough to perceive what’s happening in front of my very own eyes, how should one be expected to do the same with every single event that’s happening around the entire world?

With that, there are other facets of life that we naturally crave, like a sense of belonging, as well as giving and receiving compassion from others. Think of how good it feels to have a nice conversation with a friend or just going out and simply enjoying life with others; making something out of nothing, and giving without any expectation of receiving.

On the other hand, think of how empty it feels to read a scanty news article about an event that happened somewhere in the world, and then sharing that news article on Facebook, whether by absentmindedly copying the link, or sharing an image based on it. And what are the consequences of this? Well, it only frustrates and angers of your online friends who see it. It breeds negativity based on a pinhole perception. Then think of what might happen next, somebody who sees your post then spends time with their children and maybe they’re not in the greatest mood anymore because of something they saw in their online community.

An online community of friends, people who know and maybe even love each other. A community that’s meant to aid in the connecting of others. Yet that isn’t how it’s use much of the time. Basically, next time you decided to share something negative, think twice if people actually want to see it. Think of how you can improve the life of yourself and others, including primarily your very own offspring.

To circle back to the beginning, we have the freedom and ability to live our life in any way that we wish (especially if we work for it), but I do believe that life should be fulfilling for oneself, compassionate for others, and enriching for the next generation. With a mindless, hate and fear-mongering, and distracting online platform (Facebook) at the center of all human connection, we should be mindful of how our time is spent, as well as the unlimited opportunity we have to do better in both our lives and communities.

Remember, we are Human, not corporate-political pawns. If it were 1990, we’d read the news article and get on with our day. If somebody else wanted to do the same, they’d have every right to. I don’t know where all this came from, but hopefully it was at least somewhat valuable. Am I wrong?

    Happy Fourth 🇺🇸✌️
